In the same vein of promoting Co-operation amongst Co-operatives, there are key champion-bodies that represent the collective voices of the Co-operative Movement world-wide.

The International Co-operative Alliance (ICA)

The International Co-operative Alliance is regarded as the global representation for the Co-operative movement. Founded in 1895, ICA has 249 member organisations from 93 countries active in all sectors of the economy. Together these co-operatives represent nearly one billion individuals worldwide.

SNCF has been a member of ICA since 1985. Mr. Seah Kian Peng, immediate-past Chairman of SNCF and Managing Director for NTUC FairPrice Co-op (Group) was the first Singaporean to be elected to the ICA Global board in 2005. Mr Chan Tee Seng, Chairman of SNCF and CEO for NTUC FirstCampus Co-operative was also elected to the ICA Asia Pacific board.


World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU)

The World Council of Credit Unions is the global trade association and development agency for credit unions. WOCCU promotes the sustainable development of credit unions and other financial co-operatives around the world to empower people through access to high quality and affordable financial services. Under the umbrella of the World Council of Credit Unions, 49,000 credit unions serve 177 million members in 96 countries, and 4,200 banks.

SNCF has been a member of WOCCU since 2010.


Association for Asia Confederation Credit Union (ACCU)

The Association of Asian Confederation of Credit Unions is a regional member based organization of credit unions and Co-operatives in Asia.

SNCF has been a member of ACCU since 2009.
