These co-operatives, formed by the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), provide childcare, housing, aged day care, food courts, supermarkets, insurance, pharmaceutical products, family clinics and dental services, print and broadcast media and thrift and loan services to members. They are formed by the Labour Movement with the primary purpose to serve workers and their families. The NTUC co-operatives themselves have a combined turnover of S$4 billion and 10,000 employees.
