With the aim to understanding the local co-operative scene, 10 delegates from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, Korean Domestic Workers Association, and various Korean co-operatives, i.e. Social Cooperative People & Society, National Federation of School Co-operatives, CN Co-operatives, iCOOP Co-operative Institute (Foundation) and Seoul Co-operative Association, visited Singapore to get a first-hand experience. The delegation comprised Presidents, Directors of the Board, Deputy Director, Team Leaders, and managers of the different organisations and co-operatives.
During their three-day stay, from 23 October to 25 October, they visited SNCF and various co-operatives. At their meeting with SNCF and the Registry of Co-operative Societies on 23 October, they learnt about the operating environment like policy, role of SNCF and the Registry, training and funding, and had s a lively exchange of ideas. They had a session with NTUC co-operatives, namely NTUC Enterprise, NTUC First Campus and NTUC FairPrice co-operatives, as well as with the credit co-operatives i.e. Police Co-operative and AUPE Credit Co-operative where they gained insights into co-operatives’ operations. They rounded off their visit by making a trip to NTUC Warehouse Club.
