caregivers carnival emcee activity

Do you know that everyone would become a caregiver at some point in time? For instance, mothers taking care of their babies, and adults, their aged parents. Some of you are already caregivers. Caring for a loved one can be trying. Being equipped with the right knowledge and skills to provide proper care will allow you to better help your loved one. And knowing where to go when you need a break will help you manage the caregiver stress. The Silver Caregivers Co-operative Ltd (SCCL) is one avenue that caregivers can go to. SCCL hopes to better the quality of life of caregivers through workshops, courses and talks, as well as to become a one-stop centre of information on caregiving roles in Singapore.

HEALTHY FUN FOR EVERY CAREGIVER FAMILY

To celebrate caregiving and provide an avenue for families to have fun, SCCL organised their very first Caregivers Carnival on 3 November 2018 at Jurong Point.

The event saw caregivers and the public enjoying the carnival while learning more about SCCL and the services available to relieve caregiver stress.

Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF), together with our co-operatives such as Mercatus Co-operative, Singapore Government Staff Credit Co-operative Society and Singapore Statutory Board Employees’ Co-operative Thrift & Loan Society supported this event. When co-operatives collaborate, we can deliver greater impact.

SCCL, in partnership with Assurance Technology, launched their eHealthAssist mobile app to empower caregivers with digital services. For every download of the app, Assurance Technology would pledge $1 to SCCL. The money would go towards the support of building a strong caregivers’ ecosystem and more than 650 downloads were clocked on that day.
