Empowerment at the heart of SCM
What I find especially meaningful about co-ops is how they empower individuals by giving them a direct stake in decision-making and a share in the benefits they help create. This sense of ownership and collective responsibility not only fosters self-reliance but also builds confidence, as members actively shape the direction of their co-ops.

By focusing on the needs and aspirations of individuals, co-ops help people unlock their potential, ensuring they don’t just consume services but also contribute to the solutions that benefit their communities.

I hope the Singapore Co-operative Movement continues to grow, staying true to its roots of community and collaboration while evolving to meet new challenges and create lasting positive impact for all. My wish is also for this empowerment to remain at the heart of the Movement, to drive sustainable and inclusive growth for future generations.
