& Second Minister for Law

My warmest congratulations to the Singapore Co-operative Movement as we celebrate its centennial year!
This celebration is timely, as it coincides with our nation’s SG60 celebrations, and the United Nations' recognition of 2025 as the International Year of Co-operatives.

For a century, co-ops have played a pivotal role in providing essential services and support to members, even during challenging times. The co-ops embody the spirit of mutual help, and contribute to building strong bonds among people within our community. The co-ops therefore play a pivotal role in building a strong and cohesive society in Singapore.

This centennial invites us to renew our commitment to co-operative ideals, building a more inclusive and compassionate Singapore. On the part of the government, we remain strongly committed to support the co-ops in widening and deepening your social missions and enhancing your social impact.

Congratulations once again on this remarkable milestone, and may the co-op movement’s spirit of care and mutual help continue to inspire and thrive for generations to come.
