POLWEL Co-operative has taken a bold step forward in its retail operations (@sgpolicegifts) with the launch of the POLWEL Wagon, a fully electric van that now delivers its popular range of Police Gifts and Souvenirs across Singapore. The move, implemented at the start of 2025, signals the co-op’s firm commitment to sustainability while strengthening its logistics capabilities.
For POLWEL, the adoption of an electric vehicle is more than a fleet upgrade. It reflects the co-op’s embrace of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, aligning business operations with Singapore’s national green mobility push. By reducing transport-related emissions, the POLWEL Wagon plays a role in lowering the co-op’s carbon footprint, supporting broader efforts to build a cleaner, greener future.
Beyond its environmental impact, the vehicle also represents efficiency and reliability in action. As the official delivery workhorse for POLWEL’s retail arm, the van ensures timely fulfilment of orders to customers across the island. Whether delivering police diecast model vehicles for collectors, souvenirs and lifestyle merchandise for families, or corporate gifts for Singapore Police Force’s officers, the Wagon ensures that every purchase arrives with a smaller environmental cost.

This co-operative also published its inaugural sustainability report this year. According to the report, which outlined the consolidated green efforts by POLWEL last year, these sustainability efforts are pegged to United Nations’ Sustainability Development Goals (SDG): SDG3 – Good health and well-being; SDG8 – Decent work and economic growth; SDG10 – Reduced inequalities; SDG12 – Responsible consumption and production; and SDG17 – Partnerships for the goals.
In July this year, the co-operative also organised its inaugural beach clean-up initiative, which saw employees headed to East Coast Park to collect litter. In the span of two hours, the co-operative cleared close to 50kg of litter.
The shift to sustainable transport or participating in beach clean-up underscore how co-operatives can balance business needs with social responsibility. For customers and members of the community, spotting the POLWEL Wagon on the roads is more than just seeing a delivery van, it is a reminder of how co-operatives in Singapore are driving positive change in both practical and visible ways.
