Looking back at the celebrations of the three Centennial Co-operatives

In the Singapore Co-operative Movement’s 100th anniversary, three pioneering co-operatives reflect on a century of service, solidarity and resilience while setting their sights on the road ahead.



By now, you would know that 2025 has been a milestone year for the Singapore Co-operative Movement (SCM). From a celebratory night to a dedicated short film, the centennial anniversary of the SCM is met with great fanfare, especially amongst the three oldest co-operatives.

If anything, these celebrations honoured their enduring legacy and highlighted the integral role co-operatives have played in shaping lives and supporting generations.

Here are what the Chairperson of each of the three Centennial co-operatives had to say:

SNCF is the apex body of Singapore’s Co-operative Movement, and secretariat of the Central Co-operative Fund (CCF). Formed in 1980 with the aim of championing Singapore’s Co-operative Movement, the apex body represents majority of co-operative members in Singapore through its affiliated co-operatives.
